Allied Minds Vice President John Serafini to Speak at NASA Briefing on the Growing Importance of CubeSats in Exploration and Technology Development
The briefing on Wednesday, Oct. 7 is part of a series of events being hosted by NASA as it prepares for the launch of 13 NASA and National Reconnaissance Office (NRO)-sponsored CubeSats on Thursday, Oct. 8.

Boston (October 6, 2015) Allied Minds Vice President John Serafini will be speaking at a briefing hosted by NASA on the growing importance of CubeSats in exploration and technology development on Wednesday, Oct. 7 at 1 p.m. EDT (10 a.m. PDT). The presentation will take place at Vandenberg Air Force Base in California, and will be broadcast live on NASA Television and on the agency’s website at http://www.nasa.gov/nasatv
Serafini, who also leads space-based Allied Minds subsidiaries HawkEye 360 Inc. and BridgeSat, will be part of a panel that includes Steve Jurczyk, associate administrator for Space Technology at NASA Headquarters; Meagan Hubbell, deputy chief, CubeSat Program Office, National Reconnaissance Office; Sherrie Zacharius, vice president, Technology and Laboratory Operations at The Aerospace Corporation; Andrew Petro, Small Spacecraft Technology Program executive at NASA Headquarters; and Scott Higginbotham, Launch Services Program ELaNa-12 Mission manager at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida.
Small satellites, including CubeSats, are playing an increasingly larger role in exploration, technology demonstration, scientific research and educational investigations at NASA. Serafini will be speaking on the commercial applications of these miniature satellites, and his collaboration with research labs including The Aerospace Corporation on commercializing this technology to the benefit of the U.S. economy.
During the briefing, NASA will be accepting questions submitted via Twitter using the hashtag #askNASA.
